Last night, I had the pleasure of attending an advanced screening for the movie Precious. The movie is based on the novel Push by Sapphire. I remember reading Push many years ago and being absolutely blown away by the book told from the perspective of Clareece, an illiterate and brutalized teen from Harlem.

Tyler Perry who executive produced the movie Precious, which opens in theaters November 6th, opened up recently  about his childhood abuse.
