Entertainment News Recap – Gabrielle Union, Dwyane Wade, Queen Latifah, and more!

Submitted by musichotspot on May 5, 2010 – 11:22 amNo Comment

Wow and I thought the show Basketball Wives on VH1 had drama! According to the Chicago Sun Times, the love triangle that is Dwyane Wade, wife Siohvaughn and Dwyane’s new girlfriend Gabrielle Union has just heated up!

Siohvaughn has filed suit against actress Gabrielle Union over emotional distress. She claims the actress “engaged in sexual foreplay with Dwyane Wade” in front of Wade’s 8-year-old and 2-year-old sons while on an unsupervised visitation to the basketball star’s Miami home, according to a suit filed Tuesday in Cook County Circuit Court.

The suit also claims Wade’s oldest son was allowed to play unsupervised in or around the Miami home’s pool at night and the younger child nearly drowned while in his father’s care and Union drove the boys to the park with his oldest son in the front seat.

Siohvaughn Wade and the boys are seeking more than $50,000 from Union at a trial. Gabby may want to rethink this relationship…cause Siohvaughn is not playing!

Update:

Dwayne’s response:

Wade tells TMZ, “I am shocked that Siohvaughn Wade has brought this baseless and meritless lawsuit in the name of our children against Gabrielle Union.”

Wade adds, “I am deeply saddened and disappointed that Siouhvaughn has used our sons once again as pawns and is now lashing out at Gabrielle, who is an innocent party. It is clear that this is a desperate attempt to retaliate against me for seeking sole custody of our children and requesting that the court have her undergo a psychiatric examination.”

Wade concludes, “My primary concern is my children and actions such as this only inflame the situation are harmful to their well being.”

Gabrielle’s statement:

“Each and every allegation made is entirely false. Ms. Union wasn’t in the state of Florida or Illinois where and when each of these allegations are said to have occured.

These false accusations were previously made approximately one month ago in family court. Not only was Ms. Union not named a defendant at that time but the court ultimately rejected these claims as frivolous. Gabrielle apologizes to the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois for tying them up with erroneous claims when there are real victims who should be receiving the legal attention they need.” – C. Anthony Mulrain (Gabrielle Union’s legal representative)

Fans of Mara Brock Akil’s show Girlfriends, may get a kick out of this news. Although the show is not returning Queen Latifah has tapped LisaRaye & Stacy Dash for a new comedic drama coming to VH1 entitled Single Ladies. The movie if successful could turn into a regular series that is already being compared to the successful UPN series Girlfriends.  Lauren London will play the niece of LisaRaye’s character, although London’s management notes that her role on the sitcom is small.
